In Simple Terms

  • A tender-to sticker shows that your dinghy or inflatable belongs to a parent boat.
  • Line 1 says TENDER TO- (you can change this text if needed).
  • Line 2 shows the parent boat's registration number — for example, WA 1234 AB.
  • Layout: Stacked two lines (most states) or single line (e.g. TENDER TO BLUE HORIZON)
  • You usually need one sticker on each side of the tender (left and right).
  • Pick your state (WA, QLD, NSW, VIC, SA or TAS) so the format and letter size match local rules.

What Does the Sticker Look Like?

Your sticker can be stacked (two lines) or on a single line — choose in the designer. This is different from a normal boat rego sticker.

Common Questions

Tap a question to read the answer.

A tender-to sticker displays TENDER TO- on the first line (default text, editable in our designer) and the parent vessel registration number on the second line. It identifies a dinghy, inflatable tender, or small boat registered under a parent vessel rather than having its own standalone registration number.

Standard boat registration stickers show the registration number in a single straight horizontal line on both sides of the hull. Tender-to stickers use a stacked two-line layout — TENDER TO- above the parent vessel registration — which maritime authorities require for dinghies and tenders registered under a parent boat.

Australian maritime authorities require tender-to markings in a stacked format with the TENDER TO- prefix above the parent registration. Our designer produces this layout automatically with correct line heights and spacing for your state.

Yes. Choose your state, select a compliant size preset, enter your parent vessel registration, and design your custom tender-to vinyl sticker online. We ship across Australia with fast production turnaround.

Most states require the tender-to marking to be displayed on both sides of the tender (port and starboard), clearly visible above the waterline. Order one sticker per side — our designer sells single stickers so you can order the quantity you need.

Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania publish tender-to marking rules. Our designer offers 50mm, 75mm and 100mm character height presets per state. Stacked (two-line) and single-line layouts are supported; pricing may differ by layout.

Victoria requires a single-line marking with the letter T as a suffix after the parent vessel name or registration — for example BLUE HORIZON T or AB123N T. Our designer applies this format automatically when VIC is selected.

South Australia tender-to markings use TENDER TO with the parent vessel name — not the registration number. Select SA in the designer and enter the parent boat name.

Queensland (MSQ) tender-to markings require a minimum 50mm character height. Our QLD preset matches this — select Queensland in the designer to preview stacked or single-line layouts.

New South Wales requires a minimum 50mm character height for tender-to markings. Line 1 defaults to T/T and is editable in our designer. Stacked and single-line layouts are supported.

In Western Australia, tender-to characters on dark-coloured hulls may require a white surround of approximately 7mm for contrast and legibility. Our designer includes a white surround option and contrast warning when WA is selected.

Yes. Line 1 defaults vary by state (T/T, TENDER TO, or hidden for VIC suffix format) but is editable where applicable. Enter the parent vessel name or registration as required by your state.

Yes. Our marine-grade ORAFOL vinyl sticks to rigid hulls and inflatable tender tubes when the surface is clean and dry. Apply on both sides where your state authority requires parent vessel registration marking.

Yes. Clean the hull surface, position the stacked sticker, and apply using the included instructions for a bubble-free finish. Display on both sides of the tender where your state authority requires it.
