Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about boat registration stickers, sizing, installation, materials, and display rules in Australia.
Yes. All registered boats and personal watercraft in Australia must display visible registration numbers on both sides according to state regulations. Failure to display legal boat rego stickers may result in fines.
Each Australian state and territory publishes its own heights. There is no single national 150mm / 100mm rule. Queensland uses planing / PWC / other-ship classes; South Australia uses length (3 metres); Tasmania PWC is 75mm; the ACT has no boat registration scheme. See our state-by-state display table.
We cut common published heights for each state. Rules differ: most NT recreational boats are not registered; ACT uses another state’s numbers. We are not a government agency and products are not government-certified. Always check your marine authority.
We use premium German-engineered ORAFOL marine vinyl, designed to withstand saltwater & freshwater exposure, direct UV sunlight for 8+ years, high-pressure cleaning, and fuel, oil & chemical contact. Professional-grade adhesive for fast, reliable bonding.
When installed correctly and maintained, our long-life UV-resistant vinyl will not peel, crack, fade or bubble. Quality marine vinyl typically lasts 5-10 years. See our maintenance guide for care tips.
Absolutely. Every set includes a squeegee and instructions. The pre-spaced layout makes installation simple and fast. See our How to Apply guide for step-by-step instructions.
Placement is set by the issuing state. Many states require both sides, above the waterline, in contrast. Queensland other ships may use the stern. South Australia uses both sides toward the bow and a 50-metre underway figure that is SA-only (Queensland is about 30 metres). See our placement guide.
We offer 24 colour options including Matte Black, Gloss Black, White, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Navy, Purple, Pink, Grey, Metallic Silver, Metallic Gold, and Reflective. For best legal visibility, choose high contrast against your hull.
